And thats a wrap!

After twelve months of planning, the Festa committee were able to make this years Mirboo North Italian Festa bigger and better than ever before!

Unprecedented crowds of people made their way to Mirboo North and despite a tragic accident on the Strzelecki Highway, our fabulous emergency services made sure that the people heading into town from the Highway were redirected safely using alternate routes.

When the Festa team approached us last year and asked us to come on board as market coordinators for the 2019 event, we were really excited that this already established Festa committee recognised our talents. Little did we know at that time, we would learn so much from this team. Their organisation, consideration and passion made our job easy. They are so professional and hard working. The Mirboo North community is so lucky to have people like this, prepared to volunteer their time to bring an experience like no other to the town.

Our market and produce stallholders were also amazing! So many wonderful, talented smiling faces to greet us as the gates opened in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Many of them reported record sales for the day with some 20,000 people descending upon Mirboo North to join in the festivities!

Our fabulous Boo Crew were also on board, giving up their Sunday sleep in and time with their families to support us in our market bump in. These girls are amazing!

Once the market was set up and our stallholders were ready to go, we were able to spend some time with our own families enjoying the atmosphere of the day! The highlights for us would have to be the flag throwers all the way from Italy, the shopping, the cooking demonstrations and the magic as thousands of people gathered at the stage dancing, singing and celebrating all things Italian.

The food was epic. Chatting to a few of the vendors later in the afternoon, they too recorded record breaking sales, some packing up early after selling out! One coffee vendor even told us that he brought 2.5 times more coffee than he had ever sold at a festival and STILL managed to sell out completely by 3pm!

Despite Baromi Park being packed to the brim with food, drink and shopping options, the main street was also buzzing with many patrons choosing to have a sit down meal or coffee in town. One local cafe reported 4kgs of coffee sold for the day and the local pub bistro and bar was full to the brim!

The event organisers totally underestimated the wide spread reach of the event, with an estimated 20,000+ joining in the celebrations.

I don’t know about you, but we cannot wait to see what the Festa team have in store for us all next year!

BRAVO!!!
